The base program allows applicants to create a business anywhere in British Columbia. Furthermore, they can choose any business they would like (with a small list non-eligible business). The base program encourages prospective applicants to visit the city that they plan on opening their business in order to get a better idea of what the city and community is like.
Learn MoreThis program is currently being run for a limited time in British Columbia and is aimed at helping smaller communities in the Province. Prospective applicants have a list of communities which are participating in this program, as well as the industry that they are looking to promote. Unlike the base program, prospective applicants will have to make a trip to the community they are applying to in order to meet with the representatives and review their business ideas. Clients are expected to have their business concept ready and complete for the community to view and discuss.
Learn MoreBoth programs are points based and prospective applicants will have to meet a certain point threshold in order to be able to be invited to apply. As well, both programs require a minimum English score (CLB 4) to be eligible. The base program requires this English score to be reached at the point of applying for Permanent residence, whereas the Regional Pilot program will require the English score to be met before applying
